Home Sweet Home...
Bent and I spent hours last night working on our house in the sky. I received an IM from our landlady about the group I had started so that the two of us can share ownership. She set up the group as the land owner and now the both of us can call the place as home. It's so strange having so many prims to work with and I've decided that I need to pick up a new living room and bedroom suite to make things look better. Right now we're still using all of the old stuff that I had in our apartment. While we were there the neighbors showed up and Bent teleported to ground level to introduce himself but they were very busy working on their house and didn't stop to chat with him. There's so much to learn about building but I was successful in creating a stairway up to the second floor so that we don't have to try to jump up there (it's very hard to fly when you're that far up in the sky). It's so cool having a place that we can change around to our suiting. Now I really need to organize my inventory and clean it up, I've got so much junk in there that I picked up at freebie warehouses. Sometimes you can find a treasure, but most of the time it's all junk.

Land!
Bent and I went to a Luigi Volare concert last night at a beautiful jazz club. Unfortunately the lag was awful (either that our our internet connection) and we both crashed several times.
After he headed to bed I logged off and just cruised the web a while and then I decided to check back in real quick and remove the contents of my apartment so that it won't be auto returned to me tomorrow. When I logged in I had an IM from Pat. He and I spoke earlier for a while and I explained what was happening with our apartment and told him that I was looking for land to rent or buy. The IM said that a lot had just come available on his island so I teleported over and took a look. It's a great deal... cheaper than what I'm paying for my premium membership so I took the land and will not renew the membership (don't need a premium membership to own/rent land on a private sim).
It's a very pretty quiet place. I spoke with the landlord and she's very nice. I've decided to put a garden on the ground and a platform in the sky for our home so we can have a little bit of privacy. Now comes the fun part... picking out the house and furnishing it :)

Starlight in Hollywood
Boy, do I love to dance! Every chance I get I want to be out there on the dance floor, trying all of the different moves. Last night Bent and I went to 5 O'clock Somewhere beach and listened to some Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffett, we danced for a little while and explored some too. When he logged off I got an IM from Chief. We chatted a bit and since I had heard that there was a party in Hollywood I invited him over to dance a bit.
The music was Jazzy and we stayed there until I received a message from EAF that Jamey was doing a radio show so we hopped over and joined the crowd. Heath and Kori were there and so was Lehua. Bent came back online and joined us for a bit. Had fun chatting with everyone and dancing for a short while with Bent. Unfortunately I crashed twice and finally gave up and headed to bed.
There's good news on the NYC. Cory, Jane and Francois are taking over the club and it should be replaced shortly. We have assurances from the new land owner that we'll still be able to sail. Will be interesting to see how the land changes though.

Death of the NYC?
I received a horrible note last night that the Nantucket Yacht Club is being disbanded!! Oh no! This morning there was a posting by Cory Copeland on the SLSF website that didn't explain much but asked for input from the members. I put my two cents in but sure would like to know what's going on.
I do know that Barb Carson has sold much of the East End sims, but don't know what that means as far as the yacht club is concerned or the Mystic shops where Diana has her bookstore.... sure wish they would let us know what's going on.

What a night!
Made it back online just in time for Diana Allendale's book reading. Diana writes erotic romance in real life under the pen name Diana Hunter. It was great to hear her voice live and she answered a lot of questions from her fans in attendance. I wish I had thought to take a picture. At the end of the session she said that she would give a free e-book to the third person that IM'd her.... lol... I got it! WOW! I'm so excited! I've already read one of her books and look forward to getting the rest of them. Now I need to get Bent to read them... hehe
After the reading, Bent came online and wanted to see something different so I took him to the Pyramid in Cairo. It's a beautiful sim and we walked around a bit and explored. While we were there we ran into Circe who owns the sim. She was so nice to us, and took us up to see her latest project, a duplicate of the original jazz club in SL that she's building. She hopes to be open within the next couple of weeks.
After Bent headed to bed I joined a friend at his home for a visit and tour. He's a really sweet guy and is partnered with a beautiful girl. Hope to get to know both of them better in the future.

More Concerts...
The two things I find myself doing more than anything else is going to concerts in SL. The EAF crew are just wonderful and I love the way the music relaxes me. My plan is to buy everyone's CD's so I can listen to them all the time :)
Just like a true Heath fan, I was carrying my Lucky Charms during the entire concert.
I found out something very very cool about one of my friends last night. He works for a large RL corporation that is active in SL. As a developer for this corporation he actually works in SL sometimes.... what a great job to have! He shared some of his visions for the future of SL and I could see it.... the possibilities are unbelievable.

Beach Party at Bougainville Strait
It all started out as noon Tako races in Nantucket..... everyone was gathering at the start line. Everyone got off to a great start.... I was riding along with Berjo (gosh, I hope I spelled your name right :)) because I'm still having a problem getting lost
Rounding one of the islands we had a close encounter with Francois:
Not sure who won the race but a discussion ensued at the finish line about some new open water sims that had just come online:
It was agreed that we would all sail out there to take a look.... from my perspective we kinda got off to a rough start:
For some reason we kept running into Francois :P
Finally we all ended up at Bougainville Strait and had a little chat:
The racing was just awesome! Lag wasn't too bad but I'm still having problems with the race course. As soon as I get a chance I'm going to print out the course maps so that I can have them right with me to look at.... sure will be nice when the Beta .5 course map is updated :)

The Best thing about SL
Is the concerts.... I know, I talk about them a lot, but then, I'm a huge fan of beautiful music. And all of the EAF Musicians make the most beautiful music.
Tonight I received a notice from Kori Travanti (Kori Linea Carothers in RL) about a concert this evening. There was a little instruction in her concert notice that we should come in ethnic dress or wear a Bindi . I didn't even know what a Bindi was, so I did a quick search and discovered that it's the dot worn of the forehead of Hindu women. During my search I found a store that sold them and quic. Unfortunately I didn'tkly purchased one. I then decided that I really needed a costume to wear too, so I did another search for a Sari and found one store that sold them. The funny thing is that while I was there, another girl was there purchasing one. She was already buying the one that I wanted, so just in case she was going to the concert too, I bought a different one. The Sari that I bought included a veil, and I wore it for a little while, but then took it off because I covered up my Bindi.
The concert had a good showing... dimensions are difficult to photograph in SL so while this picture may look like the place was empty, it was actually pretty crowded for an SL concert in a single venue.
Kori played her heart out on not only the piano but she also played a native American flute. The flute music was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. During the concert she told us that she would check out the crowd, and that the person with the best ethnic outfit would be sent one of her CD's and a bracelet. She told us that she would send an IM to the lucky winner.
I think I came in second :).... I received an IM from her telling me that she would send me a CD. I'm so excited and can't wait to receive it! WOW!!!
After the concert I headed over to Nantucket to catch the end of Louis Volare's (Louis Landon in RL) show that had started at 8pm SLT.
I had some major problems when I arrived there (without my hair and with my shoe up my butt) so I popped back to the apartment to change out of the sari and into a pair of jeans. Unfortunately the lag was horrible and I never got my clothes right. Then when I got back to Nantucket my music player wouldn't work. I ended up having to log out of SL and back in and was able to catch the end of his set. I didn't go close, because my clothes still hadn't rezzed and I looked pretty silly.
Now, for the worst thing about SL.... the real estate prices!! OMG! It's just crazy and now to top it all off, Linden Labs has decided that they are doing away with the First Land program for premium accounts. This really ticks me off, because one of the primary reasons that I signed up for a premium account was because of the First Land deal that they offer. Unfortunately I've NEVER seen First Land available on the market since I signed up for my account. I'm probably not going to renew my premium membership when it comes up next month.

Today was an interesting day.... I ran into Diana Allendale of Passionate Books in Mystic. We had a nice conversation. I've discovered her writing and have been following her SL saga... can't wait for the next chapter to come out. Bent finally came online and we explored SL a bit together including the 5 O'Clock beaches and the welcome center. Welcome center ended up being a bust because of the lag but we did try some experiments back at the apartment.
After Bent went to bed I got a notice that AldoManutio Abruzzo would be playing at Dolphin in the Lucky Pearl Casino so I popped over. There was a Dutch girl singing when I got here. I have to give her credit for stepping up and singing live. Perhaps with a bit of experience she will get better.
Aldo plays guitar and it's a very new age sound. It's all improvised and he makes it up as he plays. It's a very relaxing and mood enhancing sound. I enjoy it, especially right before bed because it really relaxes me.

Valentines Day
Had a wonderful valentines dinner in RL and then went to Maddies new Jazz Club for a performance by Luigi Volare. My friend Spencer joined me there and we tangoed to Luigi's beautiful music. SL and/or this old laptop were acting up so I ended up frozen for most of the performance, tho I could still hear the music. Spencer is such a gentleman. He's had the guts to sail with me and has stood by and waited through all my computer difficulties.
When the show was over I had to reboot the computer and by the time I got back Spence had already logged off so I wasn't able to thank him. Hopefully I'll catch him online in the next couple of days and let him know that I appreciated his patience.
I tried to go back to my apartment but someone left an animated puppy running around in the first floor apartment and I couldn't stand up.... my AV kept swinging her arms like I was falling so I decided to head over to the 5 o'clock somewhere beach and listen to some Jimmy Buffett music. There was a group of people hanging out there and I chatted with them a bit.
It's been a fun night.... just wish my laptop was up and running because it handles SL much better than this old one.

Dancing the night away....
I popped into Nantuckett early last night and arrived about 45 minutes before Heath's (from ElectriAcoustic Fusion) concert started. Music from the 80's was playing and I ran into Diana (a writer) and Berjio (a new friend). Heath and some other folks were there and we all started dancing and having fun. Heath took the stage at 7:00 pm and played his heart out.
Berjio stayed with me and we danced through the entire concert. I've decided that I just must have copies of Heath's cd's. I'll have to go to his myspace site and order copies. Last night he said that we could also pre-order his new CD.... will have to check into that.
After the concert I popped over to my apartment to change and went back to Mystic to sail a bit. I took the Tako out first but the winds were being very flukey so I decided to switch to Second Fantasy, my yawl. There too I continued to have problems with the wind and finally gave up and headed back to the apartment to change. I did a little bit of shopping and picked up a new avatar. I like the hair and the shape that came with it, but wasn't too crazy with the skin and the eyes, so I switched back to my regular skin and the green butterfly eyes.
This morning I went over to the welcome center to watch the circus and maybe meet new folks. I also wanted to try out my new blabber/translator. That didn't go to well, it seems the guy that wrote the blabber is having some problems with it. It's funny how the new people offer you friendship before they even start talking. Before accepting I usually try to talk to them first. Most of the time I discover that they're from another country and don't speak English. While I do like to accept friendship offers, I do prefer to accept offers from people that I can talk with. I'm going to have to go thru my friends list and cull out the ones that I've never seen or spoken to since our first meeting.

The sailing life....
I'm learning how to sail... it's been interesting and frustrating at the same time mostly because I keep getting lost. I bought a Tako and take it out all the time. I've studied the race chart but keep getting lost along the way. Today I finally figured out why..... the landscape has been changed but the chart hasn't!
I've joined the Second Life Sailing Federation and posted a note to the forum asking if anyone has updated the chart yet.... got a nice response from Jane Fossett who said they've installed a chart dispenser at the Nantuckett start line... will have to look for it.... if I can get back into the sim.... seems the Lindens are having a problem today.

Soon Thoughts....
I'm really into blogs.... always looking for ways to express myself. Since I'm leading a double life (or a Second Life if you prefer) I thought I'd create one for Jojamela Soon, because she, like many folks living a Second Life, is a figment of imagination, an alternate personality, separate from Real Life with thoughts and experiences felt but not quite real.
I need a way to separate the real from the fantasy because if I posted my SL experiences on my real blog I might come across as a bit strange or maybe even a little insane.
Jojamela Soon allows me to be someone else for just a little while. Much of my personality comes through her, but I'm really trying to keep her personality different, maybe work on her shyness and get her out of her shell.
This is my first and last posting here..... all future posts will be from Jojamela herself, from her feelings, experiences and musings....
